Greenville pitcher Taylor Rabe announces commitment to Ole Miss baseball

Greenville High baseball's leading pitcher has announced his college plans.

The senior announced Sunday via Twitter that he would be committing to Ole Miss.

Rabe is listed at 6-foot-5 and 190 pounds and is a right-handed pitcher. According to Prep Baseball Report, his fastball tops out at 91 miles per hour and his curveball ranges from 75-78 miles per hour. His changeup was clocked by PBR in the low 80 mile per hour range.

Rabe played a major role for the Red Raiders  who  lost to Dreher 9-8 and 3-0 in the final two games off the District Championship Series.

Ole Miss won the College World Series this year, defeating Oklahoma.

He joins Greenville High girls basketball standout J'Adore Young in committing to play a sport at Ole Miss. Young, a senior, announced her commitment earlier this summer. This season, Rabe had a 3-4 record, struck out 48 batters, gave up 28 earned runs and walked 14 hitters. He had an ERA of 2.8 in 52 innings pitched and hit .270 with three doubles.
