Greg Cote Show podcast: Messi, World Cup & Greg reads items from the ‘Cote News’ he wrote at age 13

The latest episode of The Greg Cote Show podcast is out now, and it is a three-headed monster. It’s two parts soccer, then an emotional crescendo with an intimate journey to Greg’s (very) distant past, as a nerdy 13-year-old boy writing a family newsletter in what was the initial seed that grew into a long professional career:

▪ Greg and Chris discuss their experience from Section 118, Row 20, sitting among a sea of Lionel Messi maniacs (Messiacs?) at his stirring Friday night debut for Inter Miami.

▪ We welcome in Greg Cote Show senior special correspondent Morgan from Australia! She’ll be checking in each week throughout the FIFA Women’s World Cup, and this is her first report.

▪ And, in the heart of the episode, Greg goes plumbing in his garage and unearths many ancient artifacts, including his columns in the McArthur Hi-Times student paper, the original ‘Cote’s Grand Slam Paces Drugs’ headline, and old editions of the Cote News, which Greg wrote in 1968 with a battleship-gray Royal typewriter -- the ground floor in what would become a lifelong love of writing.

We read several of the “news items” in the family newsletter and they are equal parts poignant and hilarious.
