Owners Aimeelou and Steven Gremler spent the past few months in the Philippines, visiting Aimeelou’s family. The couple told the Daily Tribune they brought handbags to offer at the store, handmade from cacao leaves by a local artist in Davao in the Philippines.

The bakery will still offer kitchen gadgets and tools in Ate’s Kusina Korner — meaning "older sister’s kitchen corner" — and the Gremlers will add new items this year, as well.

Gerald and Susan Gremler originally opened the bakery in 1979. Their son, Steven, took over in 1999 and ran the business through 2015. After a three-year closure, Steven reopened the bakery with his wife, Aimeelou, in 2018.

The bakery will be open from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday through Friday and from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday. For more information, find Gremler’s Bakery on Facebook.
