Grey’s Anatomy fans have been pretty upset with Miranda Bailey this season. At the end of season 15, the truth came out that Meredith Grey had committed insurance fraud on behalf of a patient, and Bailey fired her ASAP along with Richard Webber and Alex Karev. It was a major, major bummer.

But fans have started to point out the hypocrisy of the whole situation, and Ellen Pompeo (who plays Meredith) totally agrees with them. Earlier this week, the actress retweeted a fan’s thoughts on the matter. “I love when the fans remember stuff I don’t!!!” she said when someone remembered that Bailey had committed insurance fraud *herself*.

Here’s a quick refresher on what @ChelseaMGiles is referencing. Way back in season 5, Bailey and Karev had a patient whose insurance expired at midnight the day he came in. When they finished operating at 2:30 a.m., Bailey asked Karev to set the clock back because it was important the hospital record showed the correct time as 11:58...........INTERESTING.

From there, other fans started to point out there have been TONS of instances of fraud during the 16 long seasons of Grey’s. There was that one time Karev literally stabbed a patient.

Then people just started going off on Bailey for some other sketchy stuff she did through the years, which I am just going to leave here without comment.

INTERESTING. All valid points. Maybe the Grey’s writers should start reading some of these tweets before they have Bailey do anything else super illegal.
