Grey's Anatomy season 20 has showcased the return of Meredith Grey in a brand new trailer.

The long-running medical drama will be back on US screens on March 14, and it looks like we're in for another eventful season of TV.

The trailer sees the interns in trouble as the threat of getting fired looms. There's also a workplace romance and an ambulance that gets involved in a nasty crash.

Meanwhile, Richard Webber is struggling with sobriety, and Teddy Altman is confirmed to be in critical condition after collapsing at the end of season 19.

But what's most interesting is the amount of focus on Meredith.

Ellen Pompeo has stepped back from being a series regular, and while she has still served as narrator and producer, her on-screen appearances have been limited, with fans wondering how much of her we'll get in the future.

Meredith Grey is front and centre in this trailer, and while it may not mean that we get a lot of her in season 20, it looks like she's getting a meaty storyline at least.

Amid having to deal with all the intern drama and people potentially dying, the big question is: what's going to happen with her and Nick Marsh?

Will Nick come with Meredith to Boston, or will things end between them just as things were looking up?

Grey's Anatomy season 20 kicks off on March 14 on ABC and will be able to stream on Hulu in the US. The show streams on Disney+ in the UK.
