Grey's Anatomy star Katherine Heigl has unveiled a new project in partnership with husband Josh Kelley.

Heigl, who won an Emmy for playing Izzie Stevens on the Shonda Rhimes-created medical drama from 2005 to 2010, took to Instagram to share the venture with fans.

In a departure from acting, she revealed the project to be a shop.

"Welcome to New Lane Road Mercantile, your one stop online shopping experience for curating a life full of peace, presence, beauty and comfort," Heigl wrote.

Continuing, she added: "Let our goods inspire your next perfect moment and know that every purchase you make, makes a difference that matters."

Proceeds from each purchase from New Lane Road Mercantile "in part help support animal welfare," according to the shop's Instagram bio.

The shop features everything from art prints and homeware to clothes and whiskey, even having an apothecary section. Its stock is billed as: "Mindfully made treasures, inspired by mountain living."

Those treasures are, "curated goods from artists, artisans, and small businesses that give back to their communities and the world at large."

Heigl departed Grey's Anatomy after six seasons; Izzie recovered from cancer in season five, but after returning to work, was fired for giving one of her patients an incorrect dosage.

The show is currently on its 20th season, with its premiere date having recently been confirmed as March 14, 2024.

It will be the first instalment of the show not to feature Ellen Pompeo as a series regular – though she will still feature as the show's narrator, and in the season finale

Pompeo explained her decision to step back: “The show has been incredible to me and I’ve loved a lot of the experience. Listen, it’s just I've got to mix it up a little bit."

Grey's Anatomy and Station 19 air on Thursdays on ABC in the US. Both shows stream on Disney+ in the UK.
