Sandra Oh's former Grey's Anatomy co-stars have been congratulating her after winning a Golden Globe award last night (January 6).

The Killing Eve star took home the Best Actress in a Television Drama Series trophy in a competitive category which also included Elisabeth Moss, Julia Roberts, Keri Russell, and Caitriona Balfe.

Oh is known to many television fans as Dr Cristina Yang in Grey's Anatomy, having starred on the ABC medical drama for 10 seasons, and it's safe to say that many of her old colleagues were very excited by the huge win.

"Sandra!!!!! @IamSandraOh !!! I'm so proud today! Xxx," wrote Kevin McKidd, who plays Owen Hunt and Cristina's former love interest.

"Ahhhhhh!!!!!!!!! This is so AMAZING!!!!!!," added Camilla Luddington (Jo Karev).

Meanwhile, Grey's Anatomy creator Shonda Rhimes called Oh's Golden Globe win "well-deserved" and "overdue".

"I am so incredibly happy for @IamSandraOh tonight," she tweeted. "Well-deserved. Overdue. She is always best actress, y'all. Always."

In an emotional acceptance speech, Oh paid tribute to her parents and thanked them in Korean before bowing.

"There are two people here tonight who I am so grateful that I'm here with me," she said. "I'd like to thank my mother and my father."
