Nov. 4—U.S. Rep. Morgan Griffith, R-Va., has announced a federal funding award to help make six buildings in Tazewell County more energy efficient.

Griffith said the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Rural Development has awarded $951,650 to the Ramsey Holding Company in Tazewell County.

Griffith, who represents Virginia's 9th Congressional District in the U.S. House of Representatives, said the funding is coming from USDA's Rural Energy For America Program. He said the grant money will be used to purchase and install a 789.1 kilowatt roof photovoltaic system, making six leased buildings more energy efficient.

"The Department of Agriculture's award of $951,650 to the Ramsey Holding Company will help the company make six of their buildings more energy efficient, bringing down energy costs for the many businesses that lease space in the building,." Griffith said.
