The Grinch, Home Alone, Elf: Cornelius Drive-In Movie Details

CORNELIUS, NC — Drive-In Movies in Old Town Cornelius is expanding its movie series, offering numerous holiday family favorites, such as The Grinch, Home Alone, and Elf beginning later this month.

The drive-in movie series, which takes place in the parking lot of the Lake Norman YMCA, offers an excuse to get out of the house while also ensuring responsible socially distancing. Popcorn and candy are available on site for purchase.

Here's what organizers say about the event:

  • Arrive — 5:30 p.m.

  • Park — 5:35 p.m. - 6:25 p.m.

  • Show starts — 6:30 p.m.

Cars will be parked to allow space to sit outside of vehicles 6-feet apart during the movie. Say organizers, "Bring your own chair or picnic blanket. Audio will be broadcast over a radio signal, as well as speakers in-person throughout the parking lot to amplify."

  • Nov. 21 — The Grinch — use promo code "Grinchmas" for 15 percent off tickets

  • Nov. 28 — Home Alone

  • Dec. 5 — Elf

  • Dec. 12 — A Christmas Story

  • Dec. 19 — The Polar Express
