Grocery store, offering Polish deli items, opens in Niles near Golf Mill

Shoppers have a new grocery store option near Golf Mill in Niles with the opening of Deli4You, a Polish- and eastern European-inflected store with a wide range of deli, meat, produce and bakery offerings and ready-to-eat foods.

The Niles store, located at 8526 W. Golf Road, a few doors west of Walmart in the same shopping center, opened its doors Feb. 23. It is the fifth outpost of the Deli4You chain, which has locations in Prospect Heights, Norridge, Schaumburg and Algonquin. Business and Marketing Director Joanna Antonik said everything had gone smoothly on opening day.

“We’ve had many clients come in today,” she told Pioneer Press. “We’re not doing a grand opening party yet, but we’ve had a lot of new customers saying they’re happy we’re in the neighborhood.”

Antonik, who runs the business with her mother Margaret, said the Niles location had been in the works since summer 2022.

“People have been working really hard to get the store open,” she said.

Those familiar with the grocery from its existing locations should expect much of the same at the Niles location, Antonik said.

Those who have never shopped at a Deli4You should expect a European feel to the store and a wide selection of produce, meat, prepared foods and baked goods, she said.

“The layout of our stores and the design of our stores is very unique compared to other stores in our area,” Antonik said, adding that shoppers frequent the chain for its traditional hot case food selection and the deli section.

The grand opening event, set for April, will feature prizes, food and alcohol tastings and a demonstration and book signing by a Polish chef who was featured on Masterchef Junior Poland, she said.

“We love throwing parties for our customers, so we just want to make sure that they’re packed with lots of free items and tastings and presents for our customers,” Antonik said.

Antonik said she and her mother are excited to open in what she described as a prime location in Niles and invited neighbors to visit the store.

“We are really excited to be part of the community,” she said. “We would love [for] people to just come by and meet the team.”
