Groundbreaking for Avenue East Cobb renovations set for next month

Jul. 26—The forthcoming revamp and renovation of the Avenue East Cobb shopping center will break ground next month.

North American Properties (NAP), which is leading the site's expansion, has set a date of Thursday, August 25th for the ceremony.

The planned update to the 23-year-old shopping center on Roswell Road will add two new freestanding buildings where two pedestrian crosswalks currently intersect the parking lot. With 2,500 square feet available in each building, new stores coming to the center will include Warby Parker, Tempur-Pedic, and the New York Butcher Shoppe.

Directly behind the existing structure at the center of the development, NAP plans to demolish the Bravura bridal shop and add a public plaza. Beside that — directly across from Michael's — the developer will construct a concierge building with a valet lane.

Cobb's Board of Commissioners gave the changes the green light last month.

The groundbreaking will be held from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., and is open to the public. Interested persons can RSVP for free at https://www.freshtix.com/events/avenue-east-cobb-ground-breaking-.
