Groups begin effort to recall Gov. Gavin Newsom

Gov. Gavin Newsom is the target of not one, but two separate recall efforts in California. Both groups will have a Herculean task ahead of gathering 1.5 million signatures in order for the recall to qualify for the ballot next year. There have been 49 efforts to recall a governor in California history since 1913. Only one was successful: When Gov. Gray Davis was recalled from office in 2003 and replaced by Gov.
