Summer activities are in full swing in Grove City. Join Grove City partners for events and activities throughout the summer. For more information about the following events, go to grovecityohio.gov unless otherwise noted.

July 1, 8, 15 and 22

Grove City Summer Sizzle Concert Series, 7-8:30 p.m. Fridays, featuring Usual Suspects, 50 Steps Up, Russell Blue Band and performances by Little Theatre Off Broadway in Town Center Park, 3359 Park St.

July 2, 9, 16, 23 and 30

Browse through a cornucopia of produce, flowers, plants and homemade baked goods in the open-air Grove City Area Chamber of Commerce Farmers’ Market in historic Grove City Town Center, 3444 Park St., 8 a.m. to noon every Saturday.

July 2

The annual Vineyard 5K, 9 a.m.-1 p.m., is a fun-filled day with a 5K walk and run, inflatables, a slip-and-slide, live music, a cruise-in, food trucks and more. Go to gcvineyard.org.

The Heart of Grove City Car Show, 11 a.m.-4 p.m., east of Town Center Park, 3359 Park St., features a variety of classic cars to appeal to automotive enthusiasts.

Spend the afternoon with family and friends, 3-4:30 p.m., in Town Center Park, 3359 Park St., with a special concert featuring patriotic entertainment with the Central Ohio Brass Band. Bring a lawn chair or blanket and mingle with friends for a festive afternoon before the fireworks.

Celebrate American independence with an inspiring pyrotechnic display in the skies over Grove City starting at 9:45 p.m. Fireworks are launched from Murfin Memorial Fields, 4570 Haughn Road; park in surrounding areas to enjoy the show.

July 3 and 24

Enjoy an evening of fun and entertainment, 7-8:30 p.m. Relax in the historic Town Center while taking a culinary adventure enjoying specials from visiting food trucks, great local eateries and quaint shops for the Heart of Grove City Food Trucks & Shop Hop.

July 4

Whether running for time or looking for a way to jump-start your Independence Day celebration, the Firecracker 5K race benefiting Grove City Buddy Ball might for you. Walk or run on the Pinnacle Club Golf Course and Pinnacle Club Drive. Events begin at 7:45 a.m. The Grove City Firecracker 5K also features a 100-meter "Sparkler Sprint” for children ages 3-9. July 5, 12, 19 and 25

Children are invited to play, sing and learn at Storytime with the Grove City Library staff at 10:30 a.m. in Town Center Park, 3359 Park St. Find additional library activities at swpl.org.

July 6, 13, 20 and 27

The Grove City Community Drive-in Movie Series features “Space Jam,” “Luca,” “Spider-Man, No Way Home” and “Sing 2.” Grab a lawn chair or blanket and head to The Naz Church, 4770 Hoover Road, to enjoy the fresh summer night air while viewing popular family movies starting at 8 p.m.

July 7, 14, 21 and 28

Grove City Fitness in the Park, 6:30-7:30 p.m. Thursdays, is a series of free outdoor fitness events designed to encourage physical activity and healthful lifestyles. Join Grove City Parks and Recreation for such classes as Zumba, yoga and Body Combat. All ages and skill levels are encouraged to join at in Town Center Park, 3359 Park St.

July 7, 14, 21 and 28

Grove City Parks and Recreation is sponsoring Popup Parks, 11 a.m.-noon, at various park locations. Fun themed activities are planned each week, including Grant-Sawyer Home (history), Gantz Park (nature play), Henceroth Park (fitness) and Indian Trails (outdoor games).

July 22-24

Little Theatre Off Broadway youth will perform “You’re A Good Man, Charlie Brown” as part of the Summer Sizzle series at 7 p.m. July 22 and 23 and 4 p.m. July 24 in Town Center Park, 3359 Park St. Learn more at ltob.org.

July 23

Take a self-guided tour of the buildings and experience living history at the Southwest Franklin County Historical Society open house from 2 to 4 p.m. in Century Village. Tours are also available by appointment at other historic sites. Learn more at grovecityohhistory.org.

July 29

Gather for Grove City Homecoming Celebration, an annual tradition with live entertainment to celebrate community and reminisce with friends and former classmates as local alumni hit the streets from 6 to 10 p.m. in the Town Center at Park Street and Broadway.

July 30 and 31

Grove City High School alumni face off in a softball tournament throughout the weekend. Go to grovecityalumnitournament.com for details.
