Brian "Tator" Edwards' love for pumpkin-carving was born when he learned the craft in a college art club. The Grove City resident enjoys every part of the carving process, including munching on leftover pumpkin seeds.

Nine years later, Edwards finds himself competing for the carving championship against six other gourd gurus on the new season of "Outrageous Pumpkins," which premieres at 10 p.m. Sunday on the Food Network and discovery+.

On "Outrageous Pumpkins," host Sunny Anderson will have the carvers create giant jack-o'-lanterns that tell a ghost story. Then, each contestant must create four nesting jack-o'-lanterns that are as individually enchanting as they are when they come together.

Judges Paul Dever and Terri Hardin will send one competitor packing while the rest of the carvers continue on their journey for the title of Outrageous Pumpkins Champion.

Other challenges that will be set for the contests in subsequent episodes include sculpting 3-D zombies in their likenesses and building a massive haunted house using at least 15 pumpkins.
