Groveport man killed in one-vehicle crash on Lancaster-Circleville Road in Fairfield County

HOCKING TOWNSHIP — The Lancaster Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal traffic crash that occurred at approximately 5:26 p.m. on Saturday near Royalton Road in Fairfield County.

Daniel B. Lashelle, 52, of Groveport, was operating a 2013 Ford F250 westbound on Lancaster-Circleville Road SW, Ohio 188, when he failed to negotiate a curve, traveled off the right side of the roadway, and overturned. Lashelle was not wearing a safety belt, according to a news release from the patrol.

He was transported by Greenfield Township EMS to Fairfield Medical Center where he was later pronounced deceased.

Other agencies on scene include Fairfield County Sheriff Department, Greenfield Township Fire and EMS, Hocking Township Fire and EMS, and Barbers Towing.

The crash remains under investigation.
