Knox News reporters and photographers have spent the past year reporting the stories of local Black-owned businesses. This second edition of the Black in Business project is dedicated to telling the unique stories of Knoxville's Black entrepreneurs.

It's part of Knox News' mission to truly and fully represent Black communities through stories, photos and videos.

Meet the owners of some of Knoxville's Black-owned businesses, from legacy companies to new ventures: We spoke with Britnie's Balloon Bonanza, Dogwood Grooming Spa, East Tennessee Mechanical Contractors, Gosh Ethiopian, Hem it Up and The Landes Team.

Despite historical and present-day obstacles, the Black business community is poised for growth. We invite you to take some time to learn about these businesses and support them. Spending and supporting local businesses has never been more important.
