The internet-famous Grumpy Cat becomes an uppity friend on whom we can depend in "Grumpy Cat's Worst Christmas Ever."
With its lead's voice provided by Aubrey Plaza ("Parks & Recreation"), the Grumpy Cat film makes a feature out of an internet meme that began in 2012, starring the grouchiest-looking cat of them all.
In "Grumpy Cat's Worst Christmas Ever," the furry feline becomes the answer to an earnest Christmas wish for better friends -- her new owner finds that she can hear each and every insult running through the fluffy grouch's mind.
Thus Grumpy Cat becomes the reluctant heroine who rescues the holiday season for new owner Chrystal, here played by Megan Charpentier of "Mama" and "Red Riding Hood."
Produced by the Lifetime TV channel ("Project Runway," "On the Road with Austin & Santino"), "Grumpy Cat's Worst Christmas Ever" was co-written by "Spongebob SquarePants" writer Tim Hill and relative newcomer Jeff Morris.
Grumpy Cat has previously been used to promote a number of products including Friskies and Honey Nut Cheerios, alongside appearances on the 2014 MTV Movie Awards, "The Bachelorette" and "American Idol" and at SXSW 2013.
The film is to premiere on Lifetime this November 29.
