The news around the COVID-19 outbreak is constantly changing, but information about food safety and how to keep yourself healthy is crucial right now. Here is a comprehensive list on the foods you should be stocking up on during this period of social distancing, as well as information about your local grocery stores’ changing hours, an explanation of “no-contact delivery,” and a guide on how to help your community and its businesses throughout closures.

Grupo Modelo has paused production of Corona in Mexico amid the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. The company, which is owned by Anheuser-Busch Inbev, also bottles the iconic Modelo and Pacifico brands of beer.

The beer maker announced on Twitter that its production and commercialization operations would be fully suspended as of Sunday. The move comes after Hugo López-Gatell, the undersecretary of health, announced "the immediate suspension" of "non-essential activities in the public, private, and social sectors" as Mexico ramps up its efforts to combat the spread of COVID-19. The Latin American nation had 1,890 confirmed cases and 79 confirmed deaths as of Sunday morning, according to Johns Hopkins.

A shortage isn't expected any time soon after Constellation Brands CEO Bill Newland confirmed "ample supply to meet customer demand" on a recent earnings call, according to CNN. Constellation is Grupo Modelo's U.S. distributor.

The fact that the beer now shares its name with an infamous virus hasn't been bad for business. As the cable outlet reported:

Constellation said sales of its beer brands grew 8.9% for the first three months of this year, with Modelo and Corona being its top sellers. Sales accelerated in the first three weeks of March, the company said, with its beers growing 24% compared to a year ago.

Corona rolled out three tropical-flavored beverages in March. The coconut, guava lime, and passionfruit lime "spiked refreshers" have 199 calories per 12-ounce serving. If you want to save a pack of beer for a rainy day, you can try one of these other Corona options at home instead.
