GS Labs Opens New Burnsville COVID-19 Testing Site

BURNSVILLE, MN — GS Labs announced Monday that is had opened a new COVID-19 testing site in Burnsville.

The new testing site is located at 511-513 Travelers Trail and will be open from 8 a.m.-6 p.m. daily, GS Labs said in a news release.

"We know how vital testing is and we are continuing to add capacity to meet the rising demand in communities across the U.S.," Dr. Darin Jackson, GS Labs medical director, said. "Between the Delta and the Omicron variants, Greater Minneapolis residents want and need testing, and that’s just what we provide across the metro area."

GS Labs said it offers several types of tests that are covered by insurance for those who have symptoms or who have had a recent exposure to somebody with COVID-19:

  • The rapid antigen test is $179 and returns results in 20 minutes

  • The PCR test is $229 and returns results in 2-5 days

  • Rapid PCR and rapid LAMP tests are $299 and are available with cash payment only

  • The combination rapid antigen COVID and flu test is $199 and is available with cash payment only

The rapid antigen test and the PCR tests are both covered by insurance and should have no out-of-pocket fees with accepted insurances, GS Labs said.

Appointments for all tests must be made online prior to arriving at the testing site, GS Labs said.

Last week, GS Labs said it administered over 18,000 COVID-19 rapid antigen tests in Minnesota, resulting in over 4,200 positive cases.
