Gucci has opened its first location in Columbus in three decades.

The Italian luxury fashion house opened a new location at Easton Town Center this week, making it the only Gucci location in Ohio.

The store marks Gucci's return to Columbus. The fashion house was part of the original lineup of Columbus City Center mall when it opened in 1989, but lasted only a few years.

Gucci has transformed the more-than-5,000-square-foot space formerly occupied by Henri Bendel into a "discreet" and eclectic take on modern luxury.

The boutique features herringbone and geometrical painted wood floors, vintage rugs, pink and blue velvet loveseats and contrasting tables and chairs, designed to be reminiscent of the "elegant and contemporary eclecticism" in Gucci's merchandise.

Gucci's Easton store is the retailer's only Ohio location.

Gucci's collection includes men's and women's footwear, handbags, luggage, jewelry, watches, eyewear and small leather goods.

The boutique sits among fellow luxury brands Louis Vuitton and Tiffany & Co. at 4120 The Strand East. Easton's luxury brands also include RH Columbus, The Gallery at Easton Town Center and Tory Burch.
