How to dress up like Barbie for Halloween?

CNN explained that as Barbie has been ranked for the No. 1 Halloween costume, the next question some may be asking is, “how can you do Barbie without unintentionally twinning with everyone else at the event?”

The reported answer to this question is to step outside of the box of Margot Robbie’s “Barbie.”

“We have an answer. Instead of focusing on generic Barbie — think pink dress — try mixing it up. Kate McKinnon’s Weird Barbie, in her messy hair and colorful outfit, is topical not overplayed,” CNN reported.

The Deseret News reported that Americans are planning to spend record amounts of money on Halloween this year and that one of the contributing factors to this trend may be that Barbie is a trending costume idea.

A neighborhood in Utah reportedly went viral for 20 homeowners coming together and transforming their neighborhood into a “Barbieland.”

How do you decide what you want to be for Halloween?

NPR reported that if you’re not wanting to contribute to the record amount of money Americans are spending on the holiday, there are some ways to still participate and dress up for Halloween.

Two of the reported pieces of advice are to look through your closet or a friend’s closet for inspiration and “ditch the trip to Spirit Halloween.”

The Every Girl reported that some iconic costumes you could make out of items you probably already own in your closet are the following:

  • Serena and Blair from “Gossip Girl.”

  • Barbie.

  • Rihanna at the Super Bowl.

  • Tanya McQuoid from “The White Lotus.”

  • Taylor Swift.

  • Men in Black.

  • Carrie from “Carrie.”

  • Mia Thermopolis from “The Princess Diaries.”

  • Daisy Jones from “Daisy Jones and the Six.”
