New guidelines for childhood obesity push more urgent treatment
The American Academy of Pediatrics released new guidelines for treating childhood obesity that suggest a more aggressive approach. The number of children in America with unhealthy weight is in the tens of millions and climbing. Some 14.5 million American children who have obesity, which sets them up for a lifetime of health problems. The AAP said that after careful review of data, new recommendations are needed, including two major changes.
