Guillermo Del Toro is finally cracking the door open to his upcoming horror anthology Guillermo Del Toro’s Cabinet of Curiosities with a new visual first look. The eight-part series will premiere on October 25th via Netflix.

Cabinet of Curiosities will collect eight “unprecedented and genre-defining stories meant to challenge our traditional notions of horror” from a team of writers and directors personally selected by the Academy Award-winning filmmaker, who also contributed two original stories himself. In a statement, Del Toro shared: “With Cabinet of Curiosities, we set out to showcase the realities existing outside of our normal world: the anomalies and curiosities. We hand-picked and curated a group of stories and storytellers to deliver these tales, whether they come from outer space, supernatural lore, or simply within our minds. Just in time for Halloween, each of these eight tales is a fantastical peek inside the cabinet of delights existing underneath the reality we live in.” Watch the first look for Guillermo Del Toro’s Cabinet of Curiosities below.

The newly-released final episode titles confirm a number of hints from the initial series breakdown provided in June, namely the existence of two H.P. Lovecraft-inspired adaptations, “Dreams of the Witch House” and “Pickman’s Model.” The remaining titles revealed include “The Viewing,” starring Peter Weller, Eric André, and Steve Agee, “The Murmuring” from The Babadook director Jennifer Kent with The Walking Deads Andrew Lincoln, and “Lot 36” with Tim Blake Nelson. In addition, the Ana Lily Amirpour-directed episode led by Kate Micucci and Martin Starr, previously titled “Some Other Animal’s Meat,” is now dubbed “The Outside.”

The cast also features Rupert Grint, David Hewlett, Hannah Galway, Essie Davis, Crispin Glover, Nia Vardalos, F. Murray Abraham, and many more. Guillermo Del Toro and J. Miles Dale serve as co-showrunners and executive producers for the series.

Guillermo Del Toro’s Cabinet of Curiosities will open to the public with a rare multi-day release schedule via Netflix. The first two episodes will debut on the streamer on Tuesday, October 25th, followed by two new episodes dropping daily until the series is completed on Friday, October 28th.

Del Toro is simultaneously preparing for the late 2022 release of his stop-motion animated Pinocchio adaptation. The first trailer arrived in late July with a limited theatrical run and Netflix premiere expected to follow in November and December, respectively.
