Guilty verdict in 2022 Blackman Twp. stabbing death

LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) — A jury has found a man guilty in the 2022 stabbing death of 27-year-old Taylin Alexander of Jackson.

Rauss Ball, who was 27 at the time of the incident, was found guilty of First Degree Murder. The maximum possible penalty for the conviction is a life prison sentence.

Alexander was pronounced dead at Henry Ford Allegiance Health after the stabbing, which happened in a club near Wildwood Avenue in Blackman Township on Feb. 27, 2022.

“First, I want to thank the jury for carefully listening and weighing all of the evidence. This was an extremely tough case, especially since the defendant represented himself. This verdict was appropriate for the facts,” said Jackson County Prosecutor Jerry Jarzynka. “We are very pleased with this verdict.”
