'Gun laws that save lives': AG Bonta announces legislation in response to Supreme Court gun ruling

California Attorney General Rob Bonta announced Thursday that his office, along with other state leaders and the governor's office, is preparing legislation in response to the Supreme Court's decision that struck down a restrictive New York gun law. The justices' 6-3 decision Thursday is expected to ultimately allow more people to legally carry guns on the streets of the nation's largest cities. About a quarter of the U.S. population lives in states expected to be affected by the ruling, the high court's first major gun decision in more than a decade. Gun rights advocates see the decision as a victory that protects peoples' constitutional rights.
