'He Has a Gun!': Man Pulls Weapon on Protesters During Rally in Tallahassee
A man pulled out a gun and waved it at protesters after an altercation at an anti-racism rally outside the Florida State Capitol Building in Tallahassee on August 29.
The incident happened after a counter-protester approached a group of Black Lives Matter supporters and began arguing with them, local media reported.
This video, captured at the scene by Katarina O’Donnell, shows a fight breaking out between the man and at least one person.
Screaming can then be heard, followed by a woman shouting: “He has a gun!” The footage goes on to show the man waving a handgun towards protesters, including one kneeling nearby with hands raised, before he is disarmed by police.
Officers handcuffed the man and took him away, however police were yet to confirm if he had been charged over the incident.
Adam Ferguson, who identified himself as the person kneeling in the video, told the Tallahassee Democrat that the fight began when the armed man pushed a female protester and then threw a punch after being shoved back. Credit: Katarina O’Donnell via Storyful
