Guthrie's Anjewl Murillo named MVP in 2022-23 Suburban Conference girls basketball awards

Guthrie senior guard Anjewl Murillo was named the 2022-23 Suburban Conference girls basketball MVP on Monday.

Murrillo had a stellar season and helped Guthrie reach the area tournament, averaging 17.8 points, 6.7 rebounds, 4.2 assists and 3.0 steals per game.

Carl Albert’s Ari Diaz earned Defensive Player of the Year honors after leading Carl Albert to a 21-5 record and Class 5A state semifinal appearance.

El Reno’s Jennifer Douglas won Coach of the Year after guiding the Indians to an 18-5 record and Class 5A state semifinal appearance.

Del City’s Sacha Hunt was named Newcomer of the Year.
