LAS VEGAS (KLAS) – The Super Bowl may be the biggest event the city ever hosts, but before kickoff, another event is scheduled to take place near the Las Vegas Strip that organizers are billing as the biggest tailgate.

Guy Fieri is bringing his Flavortown Tailgate, a free that organizers said is for locals.

“We have the ‘Diners, Drive-ins, and Dines’ pop-ups. We have Guy’s culinary creation. We have all sorts of Guy’s installations, we’ve been planning this event for over a year,” Joe Silberzweig, the co-founder of Medium Rare, said. “Thousands of people working here this week to make this happen.”

Located behind the Linq and High Roller, crews have started setting up already placing picnic tables and booths for the 20+ pop-up restaurants that will house that area.

“What’s so cool about Guy Fieri’s Flavortown Tailgate, it’s a free event for 20,000 people. We went to the local community, we said, ‘Come on down. This is what you guys should be doing on Super Bowl Sunday,'” Adam Richman, co-founder of Medium Rare, said.

There are other Super Bowl parties happening around town.

PT’s Tavern, which caters to locals, said it will offer great drink and food deals.

“We want you to get value for what you’re spending here. So if I was in Vegas, and I didn’t have to work in a PT’s, I guarantee you I’d be at a PT’s,” PT’s Regional Operations Manager Jason Bedard said.

PT’s Tavern will also do raffles on Super Bowl gear.

“There is not a bad seat in the house. We have TVs. You sit anywhere except the bathroom, we got a TV for you,” Bedard said.
