Guy steals the mic and proposes to his girlfriend at his graduation

If you're trying to surprise your girlfriend or boyfriend with the big question, there may be no time they'll be expecting it less than at your own graduation.

Your moment on stage at your typical college graduation only lasts a few brief moments, but a graduate at Baylor University in Texas stole the show this year with a very memorable acceptance.

Immediately after receiving his diploma and without warning, graduate Joseph Dizdar grabbed the microphone on stage, and took the opportunity to propose to his girlfriend. 

"Nicole Whitehead ... I love you so much, and was wondering, will you marry me?" Dizdar said as the crowd cheered.

"I'm ordained, I can do weddings too," someone on stage joked as Dizdar ran into the crowd to see his fiancé. 

The university shared a clip of the engagement to its Facebook page, where Whitehead chimed in with a thank you.

"Thank you, Baylor, for capturing this moment and being a good sport about my crazy fiancé causing a scene! I will never, ever forget this!" wrote Whitehead.

Unfortunately, not everyone was pleased with the impromptu proposal.

"This is cute I guess ... but not really," Ashley Bowman wrote in the comments. "My friend was the person behind him & this prevented her & her family/friends from hearing her name being called. She's the first person in her family to graduate college so this is kind of upsetting to steal someone's moment like that. Madelina Escobar, so sorry your moment was interrupted but everyone is so proud of you."

People in the comment sectioned piled on with congrats for Escobar, including Dizdar's mother. 

So, yes, it was cute. But maybe a little bit inconsiderate.
