Gwyneth Paltrow is already planning her greatest performance yet — a disappearing act from the public eye, which she teased may just happen in the coming years.

In a recent interview with Bustle, the 51-year-old Oscar winner — who uses her Academy Award as a doorstop — made multiple mentions of such a move, which she says could happen any time after she rings in 55.

Asked whether she’ll be the woman to inspire others to age gracefully as they hit their golden years, Paltrow told Bustle: “I’ll probably try, knowing myself. Or I might be like, ‘F–k this.’ I might just disappear, and no one will ever see me again.”

Later in the interview, the “Shakespeare in Love” star again mused about vanishing from visibility when discussing the prospect of someday selling her controversial lifestyle brand Goop, which is currently celebrating its 15th anniversary.

Though she’s “not ready to sell yet,” noting she “need[s] a few more years,” Paltrow said she would be happy with “a dramatic exit on [her] 55th birthday.”

“I will literally disappear from public life. No one will ever see me again,” the actress continued, adding that she derives zero pleasure from the public-facing part of running her company. Instead, she’s fulfilled by “creating, collaborating, being struck with new ideas, innovating, thinking ahead, strategy, vision, that kind of thing.”

The Marvel alum also admitted that she’s “deeply uncomfortable” being onscreen for work, dubbing self-promotion “efforts of self-humiliation.”

However, she credits her 50s with getting her to the point where she finally doesn’t “give a f–k what anyone says about me, thinks about me, this is who I am.”

“I felt like 50 was a deepening into myself,” Paltrow concluded. “And, apparently, that just keeps getting better.”
