Gym, math, reading and science are some favorite subjects for area students

The Kids Page is a compilation of responses written by kindergarten through eighth-grade students from area schools. Students are asked a different question each month and answers are printed weekly.

My favorite subject in school is definitely reading. Because I love reading and writing, the reading teacher is really kind too. Another reason I love reading is because I read a lot so when I'm in reading we get to do a lot of free reading. The third reason I love reading is because we do a lot of writing and I love writing a lot. Although math and science are fun, I like reading the most. That's why I love reading.

My favorite subject in school is reading. I think it is calming and quiet you can read about like anything. I love to read about realistic fiction, a story that is made up but can be real. When I'm older I want to be an author and write a realistic fiction book for myself. Some authors are famous. I don’t care about that, I just enjoy it! I think it is fun but that is my opinion. My family calls me a bookworm. Not everyone likes reading and some people do like me. If I do write a book when I’m older, I hope people enjoy it.

My favorite subject in school is science. The reason why science is my favorite subject is because it is fun. My science teacher, Mrs. McDonald let us do a science experiment about convergent, divergent, and transform boundaries. Right now we are learning about the layers of the earth; they are crust, mantle, outer core, and inner core. We are also learning about landforms like mountains, volcanoes, and deltas. Science is my favorite subject in the whole world.
