H.S. Baseball/Softball: Hazleton Area baseball no-hits Bethlehem Liberty

Apr. 25—Brett Antolick and Jordan Castrine combined on a no-hitter as Hazleton Area defeated Bethlehem Liberty 4-0 Monday at DeSales University in a rematch of last year's PIAA Class 6A state semifinal game.

Antolick threw five innings, striking out seven and walking two. Castrine fanned four in two innings of work for the save.

Antolick, Grant Russo, Nick Ledger and Jonas Aponick all had an RBI for Hazleton Area.

Wyo. Valley West 3, Wilkes-Barre Area 0

Dan Escalante drove in two runs and Aaron Klosko and Mason Sgarlat combined to throw a shutout for Wyoming Valley West.

Jake Dubaskas and D'Vonte Rivers each had a double for the Spartans.

Nathan Fritz had two of WBA's five hits.

Pittston Area 14, Tunkhannock 0

Elijah Barr had four RBI and Anthony Ranieli added three more as Pittston Area won in five innings.

Drew Menendez had a triple, double and three runs.

Every player in the Patriots' linep either had a hit, an RBI or scored a run.

Nick Cerasaro threw a complete game, surrendering three hits.

Andy Roxby had two doubles for Tunkhannock.

Bethlehem Catholic 10, Holy Redeemer 3

Chris Maciejczyk had two doubles, a single and two RBI for Holy Redeemer.

Luke Kopec drove in the other run. Kayden Stevenson had a double.

Crestwood 5, Berwick 3

Chaz Wright, Trevor Dean, Braiden Wanchisen and Trevor Miller all had an RBI for Crestwood.

Joe Moratori pitched five innings to get the win. Robert Duffy recorded the save.

Luke Sult had a double and two RBI for Berwick. Matt Lonczynski doubled.

SOFTBALL

Wyoming Area 16, Wyoming Seminary 1

The Warriors scored 12 runs in the first inning in their three-inning win.

Jocelyn Williams homered and knocked in two runs for Wyoming Area. Cassandra Scripkunas tripled and had three RBI. Kayla Leo tripled and had two RBI. Anna Wisnewski doubled, had two RBI and scored three times.

Maggie Hallman also had two RBI.

Crestwood 9, Northwest 4

Victoria Butler homered, doubled and had four RBI as Crestwood defeated Northwest.

Kayla Wisniewski added three hits. Allison Babula and Jorja Snyder each had a double.

Whitehall 8, Hazleton Area 2

Lauren Daniels had a double, single and an RBI in Hazleton Area's non-conference loss to Whitehall.

Kali VanBlargan also had an RBI for Hazleton Area.

Pittston Area 12, Wyoming Valley West 0

Gianna Adams struck out 14 and surrendered one hit and also homered as Pittston Area won in five innings.

Bella Giardina had two doubles and a single for Pittston Area. Maura Mihalka had three hits and two RBI. Cassie Hintze had a double and two RBI. Kallie Booth had two singles and scored twice. Samantha Herbert tripled, singles and scored three times.

Isabella Seip had Valley West's lone hit.
