H.S. Baseball/Softball: Pittston Area baseball rallies in seventh to defeat Crestwood

Apr. 10—Pittston Area scored a run in the bottom of the seventh to defeat Crestwood 6-5 Monday in Wyoming Valley Conference baseball.

Anthony Cencetti pitched the final 4.2 innings to get the win. Elijah Barr was 2-for-4 with a triple and two runs scored. Jeremy Cawley was 3-for-3. Troy Davis and Silvio Giardina collected two hits each.

Nick Miscavage had a double and scored twice for Crestwood. Ben Keil had a triple and single.

Hazleton Area 13, Tunkhannock 6

Hazleton Area snapped a 3-3 tie with three runs in the fifth and then tacked on four more in the fifth to defeat Tunkhannock.

Dominic Marino led the offense with a double and three RBI. Josh Halcisak homered and had two RBI. Brett Antolick had two RBI and scored three times. Nick Ledger was 3-for-4 with two RBI.

Andy Roxby homered and finished with three RBI for Tunkhannock. Jack Welles was 3-for-4 with a double and two runs scored. Mike Volker had two RBI and Collin Gregory was 2-for-4.

Wyo. Valley West 16, Berwick 6

Wyoming Valley West's offense struck in every inning in a victory over Berwick.

Noah Heidcavage had four RBI for the Spartans. D'Vonte Rivers was 4-for-5 with a double, three RBI and three runs scored. Mason Sgarlat was 4-for-5 with three RBI. Dan Escalante had a double and single and Luke Buss had a pair of singles.

Greyson Kupsky was 3-for-4 with two RBI for Berwick. Matt Lonczynski was 2-for-4 with two RBI.

Nanticoke Area 6, Northwest 2

Caleb Butczynski struck out 14 over six innings as Nanticoke Area picked up a non-conference win on Monday.

Butczynski limited the Rangers to two hits. Derek Miller had three RBI and Jay Shemanski added two.

SOFTBALL

Wyoming Area 7, Nanticoke Area 0

Wyoming Area's Alexa Gasek limited Nanticoke Area to two hits and was 2-for-3 with two RBI.

Maggie Hallman and Kayla Leo each had a double for Wyoming Area. Jocelyn Williams was 2-for-4 and Anna Wisnewski scored three runs.

Holy Redeemer 19, Hanover Area 0

Anne Carter had a pair of doubles and four RBI as the Royals won in three innings.

Olivia Paulukonis and Bella Boylan added two RBI each for Redeemer, which used a 12-runs second inning to end the game via the 15-run run.

Berwick 12, Wyoming Seminary 2

Morgan Siegel struck out eight and Ava Yankowsky and Kaite Caladie each drove in two runs as Berwick defeated Wyoming Seminary in six innings.

Alysa Lewis had a double and single for Berwick. Gianna Berlin doubled.

Cassidy Skoranski had two hits for Seminary.
