H.S. basketball playoffs: Rigdon leads Benjamin past Eula; Knox City tops Westbrook

HASKELL – Grayson Rigdon lit up Eula for 52 points to lead No. 19 Benjamin past the Pirates 88-46 in a Region II-1A area boys basketball game Friday at Haskell High School.

Weston Weatherford added 13 points, and Mario Silva had nine for the Mustangs (18-1), who advance to play Knox City in the region quarterfinals next week.

Clayton Gray led Eula (22-10) with 25 points, and Carson Sharp added 11.

Greyhounds topple Westbrook

Devin Guillory scored a game-high 23 points as Knox City beat Westbrook 65-42 in a Region II-1A area playoff game at Kimbrell Arena.

Baxter added 15 points, and Bryson Callaway had 14 for the Greyhounds.

Grayson Jefferey led Westbrook with 14 points, and Bo Payne had nine.

Knox City jumped on the Wildcats for a 22-6 lead after the first quarter and led 26-16 at halftime. But Guillory, who had only five points at halftime, had a big second half to spark the Greyhounds.

In other Region II-1A games, Aspermont took down Cross Plains 53-35, and No. 20 Munday edged May 49-45 to set up a showdown with Aspermont at 6 p.m. Tuesday at Kimbrell Arena in the region quarterfinals.

In Region III-1A, No. 11 Huckabay beat Sidney 79-33, and Gordon beat Rochelle 63-22.

No. 2-ranked Jayton also beat Amherst 78-21 in a Region I-1A game. The Jaybirds play Whiteface at 6 p.m. Tuesday at Wolfforth Frenship.

In Class 2A, Itasca beat Albany 49-42, while No. 1 Lipan dispatched Cisco 60-43. No. 21 Tolar knocked outt Hawley 54-39.

Bowie outbattled Jim Ned 66-52 in a Region I-3A game, and Krum beat Snyder 59-42 in Region I-4A action.
