H-E-B reveals a sneak peek of its Super Bowl commercial that ‘you won’t believe’

H-E-B has released a sneak peek of its new Super Bowl commercial that the Texas grocery store chain promises will involve “some dramatic humor” and highlight the brand that “H-E-B fans have come to adore.”

The 60-second commercial will air in Texas markets between quarters of Super Bowl 58 on Sunday, Feb. 11, on CBS.

Although some fervent Dallas Cowboy fans may not be inclined to tune in to watch the Kansas City Chiefs and San Francisco 49ers (Jerry is promising next year will be THE YEAR), those who love H-E-B and are eagerly awaiting the opening soon of a Fort Worth H-E-B in Alliance may want to watch.

San Antonio-based H-E-B released a 15-second teaser video on Wednesday that shows a woman pushing her shopping cart through an H-E-B when something off-camera catches her eye.

She mischievously gives a second look down an aisle as the words pop up: “You won’t believe what we have in store.”

Super Bowl commercial aficionados or H-E-B fans wanting to know what she was looking at will have to wait until the ad airs between the Super Bowl’s third and fourth quarters.

H-E-B had two Super Bowl commercials air during last year’s game that served as a wink and a nod to Texans who have made the grocery brand iconic in the Lone Star state.

In one, a stern-faced TSA agent opens a guilty-looking traveler’s suitcase stuffed full of the store’s tortillas, as Trisha Yearwood’s song “How Do I Live Without You” plays in the background. The other showed what a woman was willing to do to protect her “Cookies Over Texas” ice cream.

Tarrant County has two H-E-Bs under construction right now. The Alliance store, at 3451 Heritage Trace Parkway, appears to be nearing completion. The company says it will open “late spring.”

The other location is in Mansfield. H-E-B broke ground there in February, at U.S. 287 and Broad Street. The Mansfield H-E-B is also scheduled to open in “spring 2024.”

The Star-Telegram has previously reported that H-E-B purchased other land in Fort Worth in March 2023 off the Chisholm Trail Parkway. H-E-B said it acquired the land at The Shops at Chisholm Trail Ranch in far south Fort Worth in “anticipation of (the company’s) future needs.”

H-E-B has more than 430 locations in Texas and Mexico and achieved $43 billion in sales. It is the largest private employer in Texas with more than 154,000 employees.

H-E-B recent broke ground on its first of two Joe V’s Smart Shop low-price grocery stores coming to the Metroplex. This location will be the first Joe V’s outside of the Houston area.
