H.S. girls basketball: Cougars, Lions notch Bi-County semi wins

It will be New Prairie taking on Bremen for the girls basketball title of the TCU Bi-County Tournament come Saturday night.

The Cougars and the Lions each earned wins in semifinal play of the event Thursday night at LaVille High School.

New Prairie used a big fourth quarter to down Glenn 60-42. The Cougars outscored the Falcons 28-10 in the final frame.

Maddie McSurley led New Prairie with 19 points. Eva Dodds hit a trio of treys and scored 17 points for the Cougars, while Jayden Flagg added 10 points.

Lauren Fansler had 13 points and Mia Hooten 12 to lead Glenn.

Bremen topped LaVille 42-37 in the other semifinal contest.

The Lions outscored the Lancers 12-5 in the fourth quarter to earn the close win.

Mikayla Shively hit three treys and scored 13 points to lead Bremen. Ellia Foster had 12 points and Katie Moyer nine for the Lions.

Lucy Sherk scored 14 points and Heaylyn Kwiatkowski 13 to lead LaVille.

New Prairie will face Bremen Saturday in the title game at 6:30 p.m. at LaVille High School.
