H&M's latest designer collaboration is with none other than the famed house of Mugler.

The collection, set to launch May 11, honors iconic Mugler with silhouettes characterized by big shoulders that are tight at the waist with pieces meant to honor the lines of the human body. H&M called it an "ode to confidence" in a Thursday release.

"The collection is a celebration of everything that defines Mugler as a house and each piece is authentic Mugler, from the bodysuits, which have become a signature of ours, to the sharp tailoring and worked denims," Casey Cadwallader, the brand's creative director, said in the release. "It is a showcase of our icons.”

Cadwallader designed an assembly of pieces meant to be dramatic, empowering and in celebration of self-expression, diversity and freedom H&M said, elaborating on its release in H&M Magazine. The collection is set to include new pieces and archival remakes.

The collection will be available in some store locations and online. Prices have not yet been made official, H&M told USA TODAY in an email.

Manfred Thierry Mugler, the fashion visionary namesake of Mugler, died in January 2022 at 73, days after visionary Vogue creative director André Leon Talley's death. Known for dressing stars including Kim Kardashian, Cardi B and Beyoncé, Mugler's work is known globally. Mugler is currently being honored at an exhibit at the Brooklyn Museum that opened in November.

Work on the H&M collection started before Mugler's death.

"We were all honored to get to know Manfred, and it feels very special that he was involved at the initial stages together with Casey and the house of Mugler," Ann-Sofie Johansson, creative advisor at H&M, said in the release, noting that H&M is proud to honor and celebrate Mugler with the collection.

Ahead of the collection's launch, Mugler and H&M released a music video with a take on Stardust’s "Music Sounds Better With You" featuring the collection and artists Arca, Amaarae, Eartheater and Shygirl — and features original Mugler muses including former supermodel Jerry Hall.

Born Dec. 21, 1948, in Strasbourg, France, Mugler launched his first fashion collection called "Café de Paris" in 1973.

Mugler became internationally recognized as a designer during the 1980s and 1990s. He designed one of the most famous gowns of the 90s, which appeared in the 1993 romance/drama "Indecent Proposal," starring Demi Moore. Moore donned the timeless black cut-out velvet backless number while giving the classic line: "The dress is for sale, I'm not."

The mogul retired from fashion in 2002, but in more recent years, the designer's iconic looks have been worn by high-profile entertainers including Lady Gaga, Kim Kardashian, Cardi B, David Bowie, Miley Cyrus, Nicole Kidman, Bella Hadid and Diana Ross.
