H.S. Roundup: Fairfield Christian Academy cruises past rival Fisher Catholic

BOYS BASKETBALL

Fairfield Christian Academy 65, Fisher Catholic 36: The Knights cruised past their rivals in a Mid-State League-Cardinal Division win.

John Grabans led a balanced attack with 18 points and 14 rebounds, Matt Keener had 14 points and Ben Hopple chipped in 13.

Grant Keefer led the Irish with 16 points and Hyde O’Reilly added 15.

Liberty Union 60, Hamilton Township 51: The Lions improved to 4-4 overall and 3-3 in the Mid-State League-Buckeye Division after their win over the Rangers.

Noah Shook led the way with 18 points and five rebounds, Landon Piccirillo had 11 points, five assists and five steals and Jaden Smith added 12 points and four rebounds.

Bloom-Carroll 49, Logan Elm 34: The Bulldogs improved to 5-0 overall after their Mid-State League-Buckeye Division win over the Braves.

Owen Conrad led the way with 16 points, Michael Whitcraft added nine and Jackson Wyant finished with eight points.

Fairfield Union 58, Amanda-Clearcreek 19: The Falcons scored early and often and never looked back in their Mid-State League-Buckeye Division win over the Aces.

Caleb Schmelzer led a balanced attack with 15 points, Caleb Redding had 13, Ted Harrah chipped in 10 and Brennen Rowles added eight points.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Fairfield Union 65, Heath 52: The Lions connected on 26 of 33 free throws in their non-conference win over the Bulldogs.

Abbie Riddle led the way with 27 points and Delaney Peck had 20 points, including a 12-for-12 showing at the free throw line.

Bloom-Carroll 57, Greenville 13: The Bulldogs, playing the Mount Vernon Nazarene University Holiday Hoopla, cruised to a convincing win to improve to 10-0 on the season.

Emily Bratton led the way with 22 points and Marissa Wilkinson added 16.

Teays Valley 65, Liberty Union 51: The Lions fell short in their Mid-State League-Buckeye Division loss to the Vikings.

Abbie Riddle led the Lions with 19 points and nine assists, Payton Hochradel finished with nine points and Ella Brown had 10 rebounds.

SWIMMING

Lancaster tops Reynoldsburg: Boys: Lancaster 163, Reynoldsburg 96: The Gales started the meet with a win in the 200-yard Medley Relay. Will McMasters, Jack Hensley, Max Hensley, and Colin Kelly won in 1:46.13.  The 200-yard Freestyle saw Will McMasters win in 2:01.97 and Brayden Dennison finish second in 2:32.68.  Colin Kelly finished second in the 200-yard IM in 2:37.35 with Sam Strigle finishing third in 2:47.46. The 50-yard Freestyle saw Jack Hensley win in 23.10 seconds and Max Hensley take third in 24.05 seconds.  Camden Morris swam to a second-place finish in 1:10.54 in the 100-yard Butterfly with Brayden Dennison taking third in 1:24.14.

Max Hensley won the 100-yard Freestyle in 52.65 and John Pennington swam to a third-place finish in 1:02.57. The 500-yard Freestyle was won by Colin Kelly in 5:51.16.  Lancaster took first and second in the 200-yard Freestyle Relay.  The winning team of Jack Hensley, Camden Morris, Max Hensley, and Will McMaster swam to a time of 1:34.92. Sam Strigle, Jack Borchers, Brayden Dennison, and John Pennington raced to a time of 1:53.08. The 100-yard Backstroke saw Jack Hensley win in 56.07 and John Pennington took third in 1:26.44. The 100-yard Breaststroke saw Will McMasters take first in 1:06.37 and Sam Strigle take fourth in 1:19.16. The 400-yard Freestyle Relay took second in 5:01.93 with members being Anthony Riley, Noah Knuutila, Brayden Dennison, and Colin Kelly.

Girls: Lancaster 106, Reynoldsburg 142: The 200-yard Medley Relay of Amelia Robertson, Gracie Stuart, Drea Echard, and Lauren Wilson swam to a second-place finish in 2:17.93.  Marlee Byers finished second in the 200-yard Freestyle in 2:37.82. The 200-yard IM saw Drea Echard finish second in 2:54.26. Kyra Walling finished second in the 50 free in 32.25. The 100-yard Freestyle had Amelia Roberston winning in 1:07.91 and Caroline Conklin finishing fourth on 1:17.15. Lauren Wilson, Caroline Conklin, Gracie Stuart, and Marlee Byers finished first in 2;12.22 in the 200-yard Freestyle Relay.

The 100-yard Backstroke had Gracie Stuart winning in 1:24.37 and Caroline Conklin finishing third in 1:30.29. Marlee Byers finished second in the 100-yard Backstroke in 1:25.68 and Gracie Stuart took third in 1:27.66. The 400-yard Freestyle Relay finished second in 4:54.15. Members of the relay were Drea Echard, Caroline Conklin, Amelia Robertson, and Kyra Walling.
