Fairfield Union girls win MSL: The Lady Falcons won the Mid-State League-Buckeye Division championship, marking the sixth time in the last seven years they won the title.

Fairfield Union finished with 151 points and was followed by Teays Valley (140), Circleville (118.5), Bloom-Carroll (76), Hamilton Township (65), Logan Elm (61), Amanda-Clearcreek (30) and Liberty Union (16.5).

Top finishers for the Falcons included Andrea Phillips placing first in the 3,200 (12:05.23), Cambria Miller finished first in the 100 hurdles (16.73) and Avery Cottrill was second (16.81). Cottrill won the 300 hurdles (48.50), and the 3,200 relay team consisting of Anna Conrad, Phillips, Abbie Pike and Taylor Rife placed first (10:16.27).

Conrad placed second in the 800 (2:27.05) and Rife was third (2:30.95) and Conrad was second in the 1,600 (5:23.36) and Phillips was third (5:28.65. Pike placed third in the 400 (1:02.33). The 400 (52.70) and 800 (1:51.01) relay teams both finished third.

On the boys’ side, Bloom-Carroll won the title with 124.5 points, followed by Liberty Union (118), Hamilton Township (104.5), Fairfield Union (90), Logan Elm (88), Teays Valley (79), Circleville (37) and Amanda-Clearcreek (16).

Marcus Runkle placed first in the 3,200 (10:07.43) and Andrew Walton was second (10:18.14). The 3,200 relay team consisting of Runkle, Caleb Kellenbarger, Andrew Hurst and Walton finished first (8:35.61).

Runkle finished second in the 1,600 (4:38.02), Hunter Ruff placed third in the long jump (20-01), Mason Taylor was third in the pole vault (12-00), Chayse Lipscomb finished third in the 300 hurdles (41.92) and the 1,600 relay team placed third (3:39.60).

BASEBALL

Amanda-Clearcreek 7, Fisher Catholic 2: The Aces scored three runs in the fifth inning to pull away from the Irish in a non-conference win.

Cade Young led the Aces by going 3-for-3, including a double, while Ryan Chambers, Peyton Cassley and Kansas Rhymer finished with one hit each. Hunter Matheny pitched four innings to pick up the win, allowing two runs on three hits and striking out four.

Jack Tencza took the loss for the Irish as he gave up six runs on six hits and struck out seven.

Fairfield Union 5, New Lexington 1: The Falcons ended the regular season on a high note with a non-conference win over the Panthers. Josh Forson pitched two in relief innings and allowed two hits.

Offensively, Connor Schorr had two hits and Brody Wolfe, Ronnie Rowley and Dylan Knox had one hit each. The Falcons were scheduled to play Unioto on Monday in the Division II Southeast tournament.
