GIRLS BASKETBALL

Lady Gales improve to 4-0: Lancaster won a pair of non-conference road games to remain undefeated.

The Lady Gales defeated Athens, 65-55, thanks to a balanced scoring attack. Jenna Grabans led the way with 17 points, followed by Peyton Wilson with 13, Kara Weaver had 12 and Emalene Chevalier added nine points. Chandler Crowell and Kylie Phillips chipped in eight and six points, respectively.

In a 51-43 win over Westerville Central, Grabans finished with 19 points to lead the way, while Chevalier and Weaver chipped in nine points each.

Bloom-Carroll 59, Circleville 22: The Bulldogs jumped out to a 16-3 first-quarter lead and never looked back in the Mid-State League-Buckeye Division win over the Tigers.

Emily Bratton led the way with 19 points, Natalie Lang added 11 and Marissa Wilkinson finished with eight points.

Amanda-Clearcreek 44, Liberty Union 34: The Aces took a 23-11 halftime lead and held off the Lions in an MSL-Buckeye Division win.

Emily Buckley led the Aces with 16 points, Rachel Weaver had 10 and Addie Pugh chipped in eight points.

Delaney Peck led the Lions with 10 points and Ella Brown added eight.

BOYS BASKETBALL

Fairfield Union 59, Chillicothe 30: The Falcons cruised in their season opener against the visiting Cavaliers in non-conference action.

Ted Harrah led the way with 20 points, while Ronnie Rowley finished with nine points and Caleb Schmelzer and Brennan Rowles chipped in seven points each.

New Hope 51, Berne Union 44: The Rockets trailed by four (25-21) at halftime but couldn’t get over the hump in the second half in their non-conference loss.

Brae Friesner led the Rockets with 12 points, Sammy Amnah added 11 points and Nate Nemeth chipped in seven.
