BOYS' TENNIS

Teays Valley 3, Chillicothe 2: The Vikings took down the Cavaliers on Tuesday night, despite a valiant effort from the latter.

Cavaliers' winners included Kaiden Koch who defeated Owen Kennedy in two sets (6-2, 6-1), and JB Maravilla who defeated Coen Van Scoter in one set (9-8).

Even with their recent defeat, the Cavaliers still own a share of the SVC title after defeating Hillsboro on Monday. To win the title outright, they will have to defeat Miami Trace next week.

BASEBALL

Waverly 2, Oak Hill 0: Pitchers ruled the day during this SOC II conference game, however, it was Waverly who managed to come out on top.

A large component of their win was the play of pitcher Alex Boles, who pitched a no-no. He also struck out 12 batters and hit 1-for-3.

Zane Trace 10, Westfall 3: The Pioneers continued their streak of big SVC wins after their latest triumph against the Mustangs. They kicked things off by scoring five runs in the first inning, setting the tone for the rest of the game.

Six different players had hits, but Trey Edler and Auston Ison each had two RBIs apiece.

Interestingly enough, the Mustangs outhit the Pioneers, 8-6, but struggled to have them lead to runs.

Trent Walters accounted for two of those hits and led the team with three RBIs.

Unioto 7, Adena 1: Excluding a run in the first inning, the Sherman Tanks' defense did a nice job of keeping the Warriors in check.

A trio of Shermans had multiple hits, which included Andrew LeMaster who led the team with three RBIs on a 2-for-4 night.

Adena's Cody Rawlings scored his team's lone run and also hit 2-for-4.

Huntington 10, Southeastern 8: The Huntsmen got their eighth SVC win of the season after beating the Panthers.

SOFTBALL

Southeastern 17, Huntington 0: The Lady Panthers earned an impressive shutout victory over the Lady Huntsmen to sweep the regular-season series.

Pitcher Erin Richendollar was strong at the mound, where she struck out seven batters and allowed only one hit.

Zane Trace 27, Westfall 11: Despite trailing 10-9 heading to the bottom of the fourth inning, the Lady Pioneers went on a tear, scoring 18 runs.

Just like their game on Monday against the Paint Valley, the duo of Kinley May and Lexi Scott combined for seven hits and also hit home runs, with this being the seventh for Scott.

Westfall's Abbie Bickenheuser had to step in at pitcher with the team dealing with injuries but had her biggest impact at the plate. She hit 2-for-4 with both hits being home runs and earning seven RBIs.

She now has 10 home runs on the season which leads the SVC.

Paint Valley 20, Piketon 12: After a quiet night offensively on Monday, both teams went above and beyond against each other.

After securing 19 hits, the Lady Bearcats went home victorious after the grueling game, with four players who had three hits. Sophi Stauffer was one of those players who led the team with five RBIs.

The Lady Redstreaks had three players with multiple hits, including Kaylee Maynard who led the team with four RBIs.

Waverly 19, Oak Hill 1: The Lady Tigers were terrific against the Lady Oaks, where hits seemingly came with ease.

Several players had multiple hits, including Suzzy Wall who hit 3-for-4 with two RBIs.
