H.S. TOURNAMENT ROUNDUP: Radzik's hat trick vaults Hanover field hockey into D-3 Sweet 16

Have a day, Katie Radzik.

The junior tallied a hat trick in a 4-1 win over No. 23 Auburn that granted the 10th-seeded Hanover High field hockey team (15-2-2) a trip to the Division 3 Sweet 16.

Junior Mae Buchanan also scored a goal in the win, while senior Samantha Burke and sophomore Sammy Baker each recorded assists. Senior goalie MaryKate Vermette made six saves.

Next, Hanover will visit No. 7 Swampscott (10-5-3), which is fresh off a double-overtime 2-1 win over No. 26 Wayland, on Tuesday, Nov. 8, at 6 p.m.

FIELD HOCKEY

Watertown 7, Norwell 0: The No. 33 Clippers (9-8-3) ran into the undefeated, top-seeded team (18-0) in Division 3.

Lexington 3, Braintree 2 (OT): Margaret Carey and Callie Burchill scored for the No. 11 Wamps (12-5-2) in the season-ending loss to the bracket’s No. 22 seed.

Greenfield 3, Carver 1: The season ends for No. 24 Carver (6-8-5).

Shrewsbury 5, Marshfield 0: The defeat ends the tournament road for the 30th-ranked Rams (9-9-1)

Reading 5, Silver Lake 0: The No. 30 Lakers (7-10-2) fall to the third seed in Division 2.

Milton 3, Attleboro 2 (OT): A goal from Meghan Mylod was the difference for the No. 15 Wildcats (9-8-2), who advance to either No. 2 Nashoba Regional or No. 31 Holliston in the Division 2 Sweet 16 (date/time TBD).

GIRLS VOLLEYBALL

Wahconah 3, East Bridgewater 0: Saturday’s sweep eliminates the No. 24 Vikings (10-9) from postseason contention.

Andover 3, Quincy 0: The No. 27 Presidents’ (13-10) season ends at the hands of the bracket’s No. 6 team in three sets (17-25, 15-25, 19-25). Quincy recorded 23 kills on 19 assists, three blocks and 34 digs as a team.

BOYS SOCCER

Attleboro 2, Hingham 1 (OT): Aidan Brazel tallied the lone goal for No. 16 Hingham (12-4-4), which lost to the No. 17 team in Division 1.

Cohasset 1, Nantucket 0: The No. 9 Skippers (8-8-3) shut out the No. 24 seed in Division 4 to claim a spot in the Sweet 16. Cohasset meets South Shore League rival Abington in the next round (Nov. 9 at 6 p.m.)

Norwell 3, East Bridgewater 0: Max Flanders (two goals) and Garrett Fisher scored for the No. 8 Clippers (14-2-4) in the shutout win over the No. 25 Vikings, who finish the season with a 12-5-4 record. Norwell moves on to play the winner of No. 9 Newburyport and No. 24 Old Rochester Regional in the Division 3 Sweet 16 on Nov. 10 (time TBD).

Randolph 7, Burke 2: Jonas Norsica netted a hat trick, Angelot Brun added two goals and both Baldimy Joseph and Frantzly Supreme chipped in one. The No. 10 Blue Devils (11-6-2) will play the winner of No. 7 East Hampton and No. 26 West Bridgewater in the Division 4 Sweet 16 on Nov. 10 (time TBD).

Brockton 1, Newton North 0 (OT): Joey Veiga’s game-winning goal hands the No. 22 Boxers (14-2-2) an upset win over the No. 11 seed and a trip to the Division 1 Sweet 16. Brockton will face the winner of No. 6 Concord-Carlisle and No. 27 Lowell on Nov. 9 (time TBD).

Weymouth 3, Acton-Boxboro 2: The No. 12 Wildcats (11-6-2) hold off a comeback bid from the No. 21 Revolution, which rallied back from an early 3-0 deficit. Weymouth clinches a matchup against the winner of No. 5 Arlington and No. 28 BC High in the Division 1 Sweet 16 on Nov. 9 (time TBD).

Milford 1, Marshfield 0: No. 19 Milford (12-5-2) pulls off the road upset over the No. 14 Rams (14-3-1).

Canton 3, Nashoba 1: The No. 14 Bulldogs (9-6-4) will play either No. 3 Bedford or No. 30 Silver Lake in the Division 2 Sweet 16 on Nov. 10 (time TBD).

GIRLS SOCCER

Archbishop Williams 1, Norton 0: Maeve White’s goal was the deciding factor as the No. 14 Bishops (14-5-0) shut out the No. 19 Lancers (8-5-6). Archbishop Williams will see the winner of No. 3 Stoneham or No. 30 Middleboro in the Division 3 Sweet 16 (date/time TBD).

Attleboro 2, Bridgewater-Raynham 1: Isabella Fischer scored the only goal for the No. 34 Trojans (12-5-2).

Marshfield 5, Springfield Central 0: Sammy Zaslaw (two goals), Riley McNealy, Maddie McGregor and Abby Brooks scored for the No. 24 Rams (9-7-3), who move on to play No. 9 Wellesley in the Division 1 Round of 32 on Monday, Nov. 7, at 2 p.m.

Whitman-Hanson 6, Amherst-Pelham 0:  Makenna Marshall, Kennedy Frazier, Anna Schnabel, Elizabeth Kowlski, Olivia Godwin and Ella Nagle all joined the scoring party for the No. 29 Panthers (4-10-5). Keeper Ayla Dernier earned the shutout, with help of the defensive effort put forth by Brooke McAloney, Lexi Cole, Hayley Gillis, Aliya Chapman and Savannah Kamperides (assist). Whitman-Hanson advances to play No. 4 Notre Dame Academy (of Hingham, 13-2-3) on Monday, Nov. 7, at 5 p.m.

Medway 2, Cardinal Spellman 1: Mary Heffernan scored for the No. 18 Cardinals (9-6-4) off a corner kick by Kaci Belmont.

West Bridgewater 4, Whittier 0: Kylie Fuller scored a hat trick and Rachael Geniuch tallied one goal for the No. 8 Wildcats (16-3) who also received quality contributions from Amanda Jacques, Nora Brodil and Mya Hebert. The win boosts West Bridgewater into the Division 4 Sweet 16, where it will meet No. 9 Blackstone Valley Tech (date/time TBD).
