Get in the Habit: California-born burger chain set to debut in Lexington. Here’s when
A new Habit is being formed in Lexington.
The Habit Burger Grill, the national burger chain that was founded in California, is opening a new location at 5304 Sunset Blvd. in Lexington. The restaurant’s grand opening will be Wednesday, Jan. 31. This is the first Habit Burger location in the Lexington and Columbia area and the fifth Habit Burger Grill in South Carolina.
“We love bringing the fresh taste of California to the Palmetto State,” Habit Burger director of culinary innovation Jason Triail said in a statement. “Lexington, with its museums and breathtaking outdoor attractions, serves as inspiration. We’re excited to introduce this vibrant community to our menu featuring fresh-from-the-flame Charburgers, award-winning sides, delectable sandwiches, and more.”
The new 2,800 square foot restaurant in Lexington has dine-in and drive-thru options.
The Habit Burger Grill started in 1969 in Santa Barbara, California, and has grown steadily through the years. It has more than 330 locations in 14 states, according to ts website.
The restaurant’s menu is stocked with a host of Charburgers, including the Double Char with Cheese, which comes with “two freshly chargrilled beef patties, caramelized onions, crisp lettuce, fresh tomato, pickles, mayo, and cheese on a toasted bun,” per the Habit Burger website.
The site at 5304 Sunset Blvd. formerly was home to Uno Pizzeria and Grill, which closed in April 2022 after 19 years at that location. The former Uno building at the site was demolished to make way for The Habit Burger Grill.
The property is about 3 miles from Interstate 20 and about a mile from a large Target-anchored shopping center. About 38,400 cars per day travel down that stretch of Sunset Boulevard, per state Department of Transportation statistics.
The Lexington Habit Burger location will be open from 10:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily.
