Habitat for Humanity gifts home to Purple Heart recipient

Habitat for Humanity’s St. Augustine branch dedicated its 160th home in a ceremony for Kristopher Barajas, a Navy Purple Heart veteran.

Executive director Malinda Everson welcomed Wells Fargo’s district senior manager Wes Stapp, corporate communications consultant Madiyah Holmes, St. Johns County Commission chair Christian Whitehurst and Jerry Hanchett from the Saint Augustine Sons Of the American Revolution to dedicate the newest Habitat home in St. Augustine for Kristopher and his dog, Rocky.

Everson said that Habitat for Humanity deeply appreciated the support of Wells Fargo, the United Way of St. Johns County, St. Cyprian’s Episcopal Church, St. Augustine Distillery Company, TD Charitable Foundation, Trinity Parish, St. Augustine, All American Air Charitable Foundation, Turner Electric Services, St. Augustine Kitchen & Bath, Maverick Engineering, Bryan McCloskey, Architect, PA, Karen Taylor Land Planning, Baker Distributing Company, Schneider Electric, Whirlpool, LEVOLOR, Memorial Presbyterian Church USA and Tom Everly.
