Hagerstown police: Fatal shooting was ‘targeted’

HAGERSTOWN, Md. (DC News Now) — The Hagerstown Police Department said the deadly shooting at occurred at a home was “targeted,” and not “random.”

The shooting happened on Marshall St. Friday morning around 9:50 a.m.

5-year-old girl hit, killed by car in DC identified

Kevin Shepherd, 38, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Western Heights Middle School was placed on a brief lockdown immediately after the shooting and nearby Marshall Street Elementary, Salem Elementary and the Job Development Center on Indiana Avenue were placed on “secure” status.

Police say the case remains under investigation.
