Hail to the former chiefs

Look for our interview with the Quincy mayor in a story coming Monday in which he talks about the Boston Public Library's possession of the personal library of John Adams. This past week, the mayor, former chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Joseph Dunford and several others recently gathered in Quincy to announce the formation of the Adams Presidential Center, a nonprofit quasi-presidential library that will honor the two presidents Presidents John Adams and John Quincy Adams and encourage civic engagement. At the announcement, Mayor Thomas Koch said the center is "not contingent" on the book collection. But you still have to wonder about it...
