Hail Pounds Parts of West Des Moines Amid Weather Warnings

Huge hail hammered parts of West Des Moines, Iowa, on Friday, August 19, smashing windscreens and causing damage to vehicles.

Footage by Nancy Reeder-Zmolek shows hail smashing down at a parking lot in the city. Reeder-Zmolek said the hail had cracked her windshield.

The National Weather Service issued a severe thunderstorm warning on Friday afternoon and warned of quarter-sized hail.
