'My Hair Is in Need': Toronto's Deputy Mayor Visits Barber as City Eases Restrictions

On June 24 Toronto’s barber shops, malls and restaurants went back into business as the city entered stage 2 of Ontario’s three-stage reopening plan following more than three months of COVID-19 closure.

Toronto and two other regions in Ontario had remained in stage 1 due to the high number of COVID-19 cases reported daily, local reports said.

Toronto Deputy Mayor Michael Thompson shared a video of himself happily returning to the Forum Barber Parlour on Wednesday. He can be seen telling the barber: “My hair is actually in need of your amazing hands … It is actually calling on you because I have actually been cutting it myself in front of my mirror in my bathroom, and I don’t think I’ve done such a great job.” Credit: Deputy Mayor Michael Thompson via Storyful
