From haircuts to massages, these 4 new salons are adding to the beauty boom in Louisville
Despite heightened inflation, consumers haven't cut spending on the beauty industry — with the global beauty market expected to generate $580 billion in sales by 2027, according to a report from consulting firm McKinsey & Company.
As the beauty industry expands nationwide, the market for salon services is also growing locally.
This summer, four new salons have opened or will soon in Louisville. From waxing to hair and makeup, here's everything you need to know about the new beauty businesses in town.
Sugaring NYC
Location: 291 N. Hubbards Lane, St. Matthews
Opening date: Aug. 2
Sugaring NYC is a national chain of waxing salons. The recently opened Louisville location offers a variety of waxing services with sugaring paste made from organic ingredients. The company also offers eyebrow lamination and eyelash enhancement.

Glow by K2 Aesthetics and Beauty Bar
Location: 4024 Shelbyville Road, Suite 101, St. Matthews
Opening date: Aug. 24
Glow by K2 Aesthetics and Beauty Bar offers hair and aesthetic enhancing services, as well as several health and wellness programs. Aesthetic services include dermal filler injections, microneedling and hair restoration. Glow by K2 also offers IV hydration, B-12 injections and has a weight loss program.

Bourbon & Blush Salon and Spa
Location: 124 S. 1st St., downtown
Opening date: Aug. 25
Bourbon & Blush Salon and Spa offers a wide range of services in the heart of downtown Louisville. The salon offers women's and men's haircuts, hair coloring and hair extensions, as well as other treatments. The salon also does nails and makeup, including for weddings. The spa offers massages, facials and other body treatments, including a bourbon body scrub.

Violet Moon Salon
Location: 1813 Bardstown Road, the Highlands
Opening date: Sept. 10
Violet Moon Salon offers haircuts, hair coloring, hair extensions and facial waxing. Life coaching services will also be available. The salon will sell products from Mo's Botanicals and is owned by local psychic medium Lou Allen.
