To get that extra smooth glow, Halle Berry takes her skincare routine seriously—especially when it comes to the very first step. In an IGTV video from earlier this week, the 54-year-old actress demonstrated how she always starts her morning with her favorite Flawless Cleanse Hydro-Vibrating Facial Cleanser, which she says is like “giving your face a hug.”

“For Christmas, I gave my Flawless Cleanse to every single person I know—men, women, everybody—because it’s something that I really love,” she said in the video.

Here’s how it works: The silicone spinning brush uses sonic vibration to give your face a truly deep clean. You can choose among four speeds designed to stimulate circulation and exfoliate the skin. Berry starts with the fastest speed, and then eventually goes down to the third setting to finish her cleanse.

“It actually helps the dirt and oil become dislodged, and it cleans your skin so beautifully,” Berry said. Sometimes she’ll just pair it with a gentle cleanser (she likes Olga Lorencin’s Rehydrating Cleanser), or she’ll amp it up and use a facial scrub (she swears by OLEHENRIKSEN’s Pore-Balance Facial Scrub).

“What I do is wet it first with water, and then I take my scrub [and] put it right on top,” she explained. After adding more water, Berry goes in with the highest speed. “You just know you’re cleaning it. You can feel the dirt and the excess oil and the makeup.”

After 30 seconds, she reduces the speed. “It kind of feels like a nice massage. And I work up,” she said, adding that she never pulls her skin downward. Then, she finishes off her cleanse on the slowest setting.

In a previous IGTV, Berry revealed the rest of her four-step skincare routine. After cleansing, she likes to use the Olga Lorencin Lactic Acid Hydrating Serum, or she’ll pamper her face with a hydrating mask, like the Skinceuticals Hydrating B5 Masque.
